no training tonight, or friday either, physio instructions, hopefully get into some light stuff next monday, gutted, feel like i neeeeeed to workout already!

really demotivated atm, shoulder shot to s**t, cant do any push exercises for a while, will see how the rest fair up, may need to get a different routine in place for the time being, couldnt even lift a pint to my mouth yesterday, t**t.

Sucks dude. Hope you're feeling better soon. Listen to the physio, and don't do stuff that makes it hurt worse as you go on. It is not worth it. You might want to give dieting a break; I've heard many anecdotes about injuries due to under-recovering.

A setback is the setup for a comeback (unattributed quote off some message board.) Next time you know more, and don't make the same mistake again. Make a different one instead Wink

Thanks hrat, yeah I'm defo listening to physio, was told not to train till at least Friday just gone, but I didnt even train then and going to have this week off until my next appointment as a light footy game sat has destroyed my shoulder since, with regards to diet im still going try to get it better which I think will help recovery as I normally live off crisps!!!
Worst thing about the injury is I wasn't really doing anything and it pulled a touch then woke up next day and now it's shagged! Should have a good one to one about it with physio next session now I'm in enough pain to actually be specific about the injured area.....fingers crossed Unhappy

heya, real sorry about the shoulder that's bad news. With rest I hope you can make it back to 100% quickly. Will you be relegated to legpress machines for a while or are you still able to do some stuff?

PS. 120kg deadlift! Congrats that's excellent!!

Cheers buddy, fingers crossed I don't get any bad new this afternoon at physio, I think I'll manage some of my routine, just can't do any push exercises atm, can't even put my arm up above my head normally without pains kicking in Unhappy
yeah deadlifts feeling better each time I do them, hopefully the niggles I get with my back will be sorted soon too, so hopefully get some proper deadlifting in, still working on my squat tho!
My biggest downfall and even prgress wise is benching and arm work alike, going to be so long before pregressing here I think, probably mainly down to having no arms or chest to start with!?

Just a heads up from wiegieboards thread; Low bar squats, while great, tend to need more shoulder flexibility. Might want to bear that in mind if you decide to try them. Some good stuff here; http://startingstrength.com/resources/forum/showthread.php?t=1...

had a look, lots of stuff mentioned, really should wait till shoulder is better for sure before trying out lower bar like you said,

had a more in depth physio yesterday with the Wales 1st football head physio, diagnosed that the supraspinatus ligament in my rotator cuff is what is causing me my pains etc, did some ultrasound treatment and exrecises, i now have to perform 3 exercises a few times a day, back to see him on monday again for more treatment

Sorry I've not got the vid up yet I can't get this camera working at all.
Glad though that you've been diagnosed and given stuff to do for it. Here's hoping you'll be back to health soon enough. I think that Heather is right in saying you should give it a wee bit of time and some flexibility work first to keep yourself safe. It's harder to get the position for low bar.

yeah no worries buddy, not your fault your s**t with technology.... Wink
yeah i'm having a rest i think, at least till next wednesday, will talk things over with physio then, really annoyed though, wanted to get a mini bulk going for 2 months, then a mini cut for 2 months before 4days away in magaluf! fingers crossed i can have enough time to some lean bulking / conditioning training before i go away

still no training to date Unhappy physio tomorrow though, hopefully get some good news, even if i can do bar only work for my routines i'll be happy to keep something going for now......

shoulder coming along well, and back being sorted, can start training again, but stay low or avoid painful exercises Grin

i'm not confident about training, but i'll take it easy and keep at my home physio exercises

1st session back today, 1st time at new higher rep routine also, taking it easy due to shoulder, routine as follows, continuous day breaks routine

Workout 1
Squat 3 x 15
Flat BB Bench Press 3 x 8
BB Shoulder Press 3 x 8
Wide Grip Pull Up 30 reps - (how ever many sets it takes. When you can do it in 3 sets, add weight)
SLDL 3 x 10
Standing Calf Raise 3 x 12

Deadlift 3 x 8
Incline Bench Press 3 x 10
BB Row 3 x 8
DB Lat Raise 3 x 15
DB Rear Delt Flye 3 x 12

numb legs, nearly fell down the stairs after! sore in places already LOVE IT Grin]so glad to be back training, and this session really took it out of me, glad im doing more exercises in a session, pi$$ing with sweat!

**ordered some chalk from buzz, used it for the light stiff leg deads, f**k ME!!... really good stuff, the chalk i used for climbing was always dry as f**k, this stuff is awesome, not used chalk weightlifting before, sld's were so easy obviously weight wise anyway, but bar felt so easy to grip, lick i'd gripfilled my hands to the bar, i now love chalk Grin lol cant wait to get some deads going with it on the deads platform, should fly up the weight ranges i reckon

doms! cant lift arms above head, legs being hand lifted in and out of car lol, love it!
