Log clean - twice Failed 1 attempt at press but very close. A belt and wrist wraps would doubtless make it happen, but that somehow seems a bit feeble for a 94kg log. Paused squat 70kg*5 110kg 130kg 150kg 170kg 110kg - sat at the bottom for a while. Trying to work on finding a more comfortable position, as I seem to have slipped out of the groove a bit. Felt really good lifting, in contrast to how I've felt for the rest of the day. This is what lifting should do - make the day better. | ||

For the first time I actually decided to let myself do the mile straight out with no mix of run and walking. Whilst this is no major achievement in itself - I could have managed it before - I was really pleased with the rhythm and pacing, as I found just the right cadence. The aim is two runs a week now, the main reason being general health rather than anything else. | ||

In short, I'm getting bored and aimless. Nothing spectacular will happen and there is no grand plan of any sort, beyond getting a bit more challenge into some sessions. The following will therefore happen over the next few weeks: 1. Each session will have prescribed weights, reps and sets for squats and strict press. 2. Where I'm lifting two days (or more) in succession, I'll do whatever the hell I feel like on the second day. 3. The same applies when I have more important things to do than dick around lifting weights in the dark/rain wearing wellies and generally looking like a retard. 4. At least once a week I will do the 'round the block' run, which is just over 1 mile. 5. Once a week I will do a lifting session which involves some form of deadlift and bench or pressups. The planned sessions could therefore take anything from a fortnight to forever to complete. We'll see. Session/paused squat/standing press 1. 140kg 5*2/70kg 5*2 2. 140kg 4*3/70kg 4*3 3. 130kg 5*5/60kg 5*5 4. 140kg 6*3/70kg 6*3 5. 140kg 5*2/70kg 5*2 6. 140kg 3*4/70kg 3*4 7. 130kg 6*5/60kg 6*5 8. 140kg 4*4/70kg 4*4 Squats are all done on an axle, with no belt, wraps etc, and a pause.
