Note to self: train grip. 115kg log - 2 clean, no press - token effort really. I think only Mick and Lee managed to press it. 190kg shield - just short of 2 laps. 120/130 stones for reps - 6 reps Overall 5th. Great day, cracking events and a fantastic atmosphere. | ||

I didn't go for any reps in training as I just wanted to get the technique nailed. However, it also transpires that I had been misinformed about the weight of the equipment, so was actually lifting more in training than I thought. | ||

Push press 60kg 2*5 80kg*3 90kg*1 100kg*1 100kg*2,F Thought I'd get away with some pressing today, but clearly wasn't as recovered as I thought. All slow and unstable (lost 3rd rep with 100 - couldn't stand straight!). DB bench 15kgs*10 30kg 2*10 Left it there as all sorts of areas were starting to ache. Left bicep, shoulders, chest, you name it. | ||

It was a pleasing performance for me considering the relative lack of events training in my build up. Hopefully you're right about the deadlift. I'm just trying to keep my training nice and progressive and resist the urge to always go heavy. I have done that too often in the past and it doesn't work for me! | ||

A little worried by knee. Long wait while all the bars were being misused. Be patient... Deadlift 140kg*4 - stopped as weights were sliding off 180kg*3 230kg*3 250kg*1 poor technique 250kg*3 better Box squat - awkward/parallel-ish height 60kg*5 100kg*5 100kg*5 100kg*5 120kg*5 140kg*3 Interesting. Not sure whether to use these. May keep them in for a while as an addition Overall, a little below par. Still not right from Saturday, but needed to train today, as the next two days will be out. | ||

Closer grip bench 60kg*5 60kg*5 80kg*5 90kg*5 Everything felt a little lacklustre, but that's to be expected. Want to get back into squatting and get a new PB before Christmas, preferably at least 260kg. A detailed and comprehensive plan has been formulated; hopefully I'll stick to it! | ||
