Big Steve was looking strong on deadlifts the other night, he pulled 272.5 from the shins for 3 easy reps.. I believe his career best is around the 300 mark, he should be looking at 150-160 push press if he can get the continental clean working well.

I'm really looking to the battle between the top guns - 2nd-5th places could be anyones, Big Steve, Andy, Barry, Jeff - all up there.

defo, and then milsy, the lone rider, comes after with no one battling his position, i will try to stay within spitting distance though to make sure he cant afford any mistakes Cool

Aye could be interesting in the middle though - there are a few big deadlifters - Gaz B (600), Richard (600) and there is John F who is a great presser but might be limited by his pulling.

Then there will be the lower end with the likes of Hayden, Rick, Alex and myself.

I dont even make the lower end

My deadlift is so ,so ,so very poor that im either gonna pass on the deads ,do a few token ones to warm up or try a sumo, hopefully i may beat my c+p as im using my crud standard stuff.

gonna be some tree-men-dous lifting goin on and it looks like andy is finally gonna beat my 260 pull (if he hasnt already)

what do you mean your dead is so so? Didnt we witness (the fitness) you pulling effortless reps with around 160-170 mark just a wee while back?

Provisional Groupings

http://www.sugdenbarbell.co.uk/uploads/1203522657.gif

We'll be running two flights for each lift, starting with guys below 250lbs overhead range and then guys over it. For deadlifts it will be guys below 500lbs range and guys over. Don't be offended if you're on the border-line of one group, just trying to make the numbers even.

Any late entries please post here by Sunday at the latest - can't have people turning up and lifting on the day this time unfortunately. All lifters must be there by 1PM too.

Alex, we'll go in order of everyone's openers, that's just the group list.

To clarify, everyone will get 3 attempts at each lift. So on the day come prepared and tell us what weight you will be doing on each lift as your opener. Then you can pick your second and third attempts after your opener.

Alan will be doing "down" signals on the overhead and the deadlift.

Millsy, that system is as discussed with Alan yep.

Just confirming I won't be lifting - too close to British Bench - and I can't persuade John WW to lift, but I hope to get along and watch the fun.
