Didn't suit up today - I'll do it next week. Yeah I still plan to compete but gave in applic form a bit late so don't want to jinx it - even if I do it won't be pretty thats for sure!

Squat

132.5KGx3
142.5KGx3
150.0KGx5

I wanted to do speed sets but cage too busy so I just decided to do hip thrusts instead - worked up to 100KGx5

lol I'm sure a nice beer would suffice!

Strict Press

40KGx5
42.5KGx3
50.0KGx3

Really hate the press as I suck so badly at it - thinking about just doing seated presses as my main monday lift

Seated Incline Press

42.5KGx12x2 Vertical
43.5KGx12x2 Semi-vertical
45.0KGx19,15 Medium incline

Did chin-ups for 7 reps in between all sets

Lat Pulldown

61KGx10x3 widegrip
54KGx10,9 close-grip

Fuuu k don't say that. Have you seen my attempts at pressing? I am as strong as my deadlift and no weaker.

How do you do hip thrusts? Or rather how d'you do them without looking like a lunatic?

Hello Heather - its impossible to do them without looking like a tool but they are pretty good bang for your buck exercises. In fact I'd do 5/3/1 on them if it were somehow possible. Just youtube barbell hip thrust

Deadlift

147.5KGx5
167.5KGx3
187.5KGx3

Felt pretty dam weak today and couldn't be assed doing anything else - so Jack s hit pretty much. Also felt this really weird pain in the bones of my upper back when I was deadlifting - very weird

Well yesterday,

Was feeling pretty dam tired and had to drag myself to go.

Bench Press

70KGx5
80KGx3
90KGx6

CGBP

55KGx10,10,10,10,9

Was pretty hard compared to last week

Krok Row

32.5KGx15

And today it will be squats. I'm entered for next months equipped comp - need to learn how to use squat suit in order to not make a total fool of myself - who am I kidding its inevitable lol

Because the comp is so close (16th) - I did equipped squats today - with more confidence but still a bit disappointed tbh

Squat

Suit on after warming up to 100KG

130KGx5
150KGx1
160KGx1
170KGx1 belt on
180KG failed - put on knee wraps and got it
190KG
200KG according to spectators it JUST about hit depth but didn't really feel like it
Called it a day at that point -just had no energy left at all

Really, really want to hit 220-230KG but I need to keep my ego in check as I've only used squat suit twice. Can't expect the 40KG jump from RAW that fast¬

First proper equipped comp with 40 lifters and a length of 10 hours! Yep defo the longest comp I've seen so far. Dunno if its normal for the squats to be finished in time for the end of a Scottish divisional comp?!

Weighed 78.0KG on the dot

SQUAT

180KG easy
190KG easy
200KG quite easy but stumbled forward at the end but luckily the judge said rack before that happened. Got it pretty deep as well - felt so different to training in gym

BENCH

The mighty Mary Anderson was very kind and actually leant me her Titan katana bench shirt

100KG - sprang up and lock out was no problem
105KG - same
112.5KG - failed on lock-out which really sucked - pretty sure once again I had the crappiest bench for guys in whole comp. Need to work on this

DEADLIFT

200KG - felt pretty dam heavy!
210KG - barely made it
215KG - sadly I was failed for hitching even tho it was really mild but I got the lift. Still pretty disappointing given I had the squat suit on and it was meant to greatly enhance sumo deads.

So totalled with 515KG which I am reasonable happy with - at least I got most of my lifts!

Still good lifting, especially as it's your 1st outing equipped. Like I said you won't get the gains from the equipment straight away, you just need abit of time training equipped and adjusting your technique to suit and then you'll get the big carry over that your looking for. Your welcome to come train at my club sometime, I'm sure the guys there will be able to give you some pointers on how to get more from the equipment. Next comp when we're all peaking up come through for a few sessions.
