Am I stuck with this log title for ever? Cannot see the "change log title button", all I see is some red cross on the background So new training partner "Irish Drew" seems like a keeper, came back for a second session and looks to be joining the gym. Plan for doing heavy push press singles also went out the window in favor of 5x5, trying to learn to jerk, feels totally comic and only dip about 1 inch. Friday ------ Squats: 10xbar, 5x40kg, 5x60kg, 5x5 82.5kg - tight Push Jerk Press: 10xbar, 5x40kg, 5x5 60kg - totally goosed after these. Rows: 20x40kg, 4x10 50kg - you like that drew? Pullups: 1,1,2,2,2,2 - alternating wide and narrow grip. Might get a little nap in before I head down the pub for the Algeria match. | ||

Member 616, 8404 posts SQ 180, BP 130, DL 220530.0 kgs @ 78.8kgs UnEq | I do I'm not been a dick like I was been before but if that is truely your back strength then it's good your now giving it some attention 1st session Id do rows like you did. Some chins, I.e a few max rep sets and some shrugs. 10-20reps stuff 2nd session I'd work on back strength through chins and fat mans, the way to do it is like emo did. Find out a max rep set, be it 2 or 20 reps then keep increasing total volume. So say your max is 5 reps do 1x7 (7 singles) 2x3 (6 reps) 2x2 and 1x4 (8 reps) and keep getting more total volume eventually working up to 20-40 total reps then adding a little weight. If you feel you've got strength left follow up up with fat mans. 5x5 or 8x5 simple reps stuff, but again trying to get more and more reps that is if your training back 2x a week. If not I'd just do the chins programme And some curls | ||

Stretch Fronties: 5xbar, 5x40kg, 3x60kg, 3x3 65kg Cleans: 5xbar, 5x40kg, 5x50kg, 5x60kg, 5x65kg - gym owner came over and gave me some coaching and shouted cues when to dip under. Dipping sooner help the form. DL: 5x60kg, 3x100kg, 3x132.5kg, 3x152.5, 3x172.5 - perfect form, probably the most beautiful DL I have ever done. DB Press: 8x 12.5, 15, 17.5 20kg Off to the pub to watch SA vs France. Bafana Bafana!! | ||

Last couple of reps in last couple of sets I was losing tightness in back and coming forward. Ridiculous. Will put belt on next session, see if that does anything. Jerks: 10xbar, 5x40kg, 5x5 62.5 - as suggested tried to push myself under the bar, these felt good actually and I did them in front of a mirror. Rows: 5x10 50kg - keeping my back as tight as a tiger, sticking ass out. Pullups: 1,1,2,2,3,2.5,2,0,F | ||

Tuesday ------- Fronties: 10xbar, 3x60kg, 3x3 67.5kg Cleans: 5x60kg, 3x62.5kg, 3x65kg, 3x67.25kg DL: 3x100kg, 3x135kg, 3x155kg, 3x175kg - Flexibility is improving, feels like I can get into a tight setup now without feeling like my hamstrings are going to rip off. Helps rocking onto my heels and pushing out my ass before bringing my shins to the bar. Saying that my hips did rise first in the last set, will try setup with slightly higher hips next time. DB Press: 8x15kg, 8x17.5kg, 8x20kg, 4x22.5kg - favorite exercise of the moment. | ||

By the time I got to the OH stuff I was sweaty and irritable. Did not have enough juice to do pullups, so did lat pull downs instead. Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 3x80kg, 5x5 92.5kg - have a feeling this could be my bw at the moment as my belt does not feel as tight, not sure though as have no scales. OH pressed jerk: 10xbar, 5x40kg, 3x50kg, 5x5 65kg - not pretty, still managed a little dip. Rows: 5x10 52.5kg Lat Pulldowns: 4x10 | ||

Need to think about doing another comp really. Sunday --------- My Irish Drew training buddy has now officially chickened out. So the quest continues for a training buddy in Ireland. Was pretty hungover and the rest for the this session went better than I thought it would. Squats: 7xbar, 5x60kg, 8x80kg, 5x5 95kg - took a video, will post it once have internet again. Bench: 10xbar, 5x50kg, 3x60kg, 5x5 77.5kg - got someone to spot the last two sets, he started to do the two finger its all you thing. Had a little chat before the next set. Dips: 9,9,8.5 RH on the machine: 10x10 going up to 130 curls. Tuesday: ----------- Fronties: 6xbar, 5x40kg, 3x70kg, 3x3 80kg - Damn 25kg plates. Wondered why it felt so f**king heavy, was meant to be a light 70kg. Cleans: 5x50kg, 5x60kg, 5x65kg, 3x70kg DL: 3x100kg, 3x137.5kg, 3x157.5kg - back started to round, people started to look, the gym owner gave me a look. Disco DL: 3x10 100kg - got chatting with a big fella who got me to do these. Keeping the arch on the way down and not touching the ground between reps, managed to keep back tight through them all, might try work up to 5x10. Rubbed a chuck of hair off above me knees. DB Press: 8x15kg, 8x17.5kg, 8x20kg, 3x22.5kg Friday ------- Woke up still feel wrecked, like CNS has been drained and my back is still tight as. Made a deal with myself just to go in do the squats and see what I felt like. Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 3x80kg, 5x5 97.5kg - not as easy as I hoped but fine in the end. Stalled a few and came onto my toes a couple of times. First rep was always rock solid. Plan is to nail the 5x5 100kg, then deload to 85kg and work up again. Mind, soul and body was not ready for overhead stuff so skipped the pushpress stuff Lat pull downs : 5x10 Side lifts. | ||
