aka The Scorer Member 1195, 861 posts SQ 165, BP 110, DL 232.5507.5 kgs @ 98kgs UnEq | First week of smolov complete. Legs, abs and now lower back have all had some DOMS and soreness but nothing terrible. My squat technique has changed and got better. The bar now sits more comfortably lower on my back with less stress on my wrists, I have stopped using wrist wraps. Depth seems to be more consistent, with my knees going further out and keeping my back more upright. If I feel I am get stuck I try drive my elbows under the bar and look up. Next week all the squats are +10kg, should be fun. Thursday at Unit20 Smolov : Week 1 : Day 4 ------------------------ Warmup Squats: 10xbar, 3x60kg, 3x80kg, 10x3 105kg - 3rd set was iffy, by set 7 I wanted to throw up. Last rep of set 10 got stuck and I ground it up. Bench: 8x65kg, 5x70kg, 3x75kg, 2+3 82.5kg - Drew showed me a good technique to get a better arch, felt more solid on the bench. Curls: 21 guns superseted with band pull downs Then drew wrestled me to the ground and measured my bicep, 15 inches.

Smolov : Week 2 : Day 1 ------------------------ Warmup Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 3x80kg, 4x9 97.5kg - All sets about the same, depth to about parallel on the last set. Strict OH Press: 8x45kg, 5x47.5kg, 3x50kg, 2+4 55kg Thats was it, pretty exhausted.

Smolov : Week 2 : Day 2 ------------------------ Nearly tears and vomit today. Back to back session with yesterday. Smolov : Week 2 : Day 2 ------------------------ Stretch & Warm up Squats: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 3x80kg, 5x7 102.5kg - all sets horrible, felt slow wanted to throw up. Still wanted to throw up. Seated DB press with 40lbs, sets of 10 each time lowering the bench one notch until it was flat. Hit the pecs from every angle. One days rest before 7x5

I found that in week 3 my bodys capacity to recover between sessions became incredibly rapid and my strength levels took a massive jump. You just have to tough out the first 2 weeks.Aside from that I'd advise sticking to the lay out of the routine if your able to (I see you did days 1 and 2 back to back). Anyways best of luck with it mate, I'm sure you'll see a massive boost to your strength if you battle through it!

Thanks mate, will try arrange the days better, see how it works out. Massive strength gains are on the way! ITRG said:good squats yesterday mate Plenty more of them to come. This is meant to be the toughest day of the smolov base cycle. To put it in perspective my best with 110kg was a triple, today I needed to do 7x5. A far amount of mindf**king, nose tork and shouting was needed to get my head right. Smolov : Week 2 : Day 3 ------------------------ Stretch, warm up psych myself up. 10xbar, 3x60kg, 3x80kg, 7x5 110kg - first set was too fast. Tried to slow down the rest, went ok, last couple really slow grinders, no fails though so we are all good! Bench: 10xbar, 5x60kg, 8x70kg, 5x75kg, 3x80kg, 2+2+1 85kg - Nick said the last one was all me.
